Bixie x Daniel Mostyn
age 18
stage 1: creating the marketing posters
For this project, I was working at the Daniel Mostyn Agency. Daniel is a highly successful hair stylist to this day and did hair for Alecia Keys for a while. He opened up an agency to help his beauty connections with product launches. Everything from the Product design to the marketing resources, this agency did it all. I was the head of creative design from ages 16-18. My first job and it was an incredible experience!
Daniel came to me with the idea for his next big brand collab with Bixie Beauty. Daniel did hair for Alecia Keys for a long time and is a hair stylist through and through. So this collab was huge.
The goal was to "make it look like a global level beauty brand, with marketing posters you could see on the big screen in Time Square."
And that's exactly what we did in a very short amount of time. this entire project from idea conception to selling out was about 30 days. I was only brought in on day 20-ish as they spent that first bit of time getting the serum created and the photoshoot using said product done. It was pretty insane but we did it and nothing slipped through the cracks.
Stage 2: creating the box design
The first step was to get some mockups going. This was the first one I sent over using the photos Daniel had sent through.
This needed to have a very quick turnaround, so there was no time for 10 redesigns, we had to nail it immediately if not sooner.
The idea here was approved and we sent it all the way!
stage 3: designing the box
This was the final mockup sent to Daniel and Bixie. both parties absolutely loved it!
I handled going back and forth with the print manufacturers to create separate files for printing/pressing everything that were compliment with their equipment so that nothing would get messed up. If this print run happened and something on the box wasn't lined up, our launch timing would have been screwed.
But I nailed it and the final product turned out looking incredible!
stage 4: the final product
a 10/10 launch (all things considered) and the first drop sold out. A massive win.
